Assassin’s Tea Set
About The Work
-
This tea set reimagines domesticity through a lens of power and deception, inspired by the historical poisoner Giulia Tofana. The assassin’s teapot, with its dual-chambered design, embodies both hospitality and hidden danger. Sgraffito carvings of poisonous plants like belladonna and hemlock create a bold, linocut-inspired aesthetic, blending traditional techniques with graphic contrast. Though fully functional, this set is ultimately a conceptual meditation on femininity, agency, and subterfuge.
