Ebb & Flow
About The Work
-
This sculpture blends ancestral reverence, natural symbolism, and organic motion. Inspired by Neolithic Irish carvings and hag stones, the work features swirling, asymmetrical lines and pierced forms that flow across the stone’s surface, reflecting themes of continuity, ritual, and change. Carved from white soapstone and accented with a contrasting smaller stone, the piece is meant to be viewed in the round, evoking movement and transformation from every angle. While rooted in Celtic visual language and personal heritage, it invites open interpretation. The carving process—meditative, yet marked by fracture and repair—mirrors the emotional resilience layered within the stone itself.
